New Riverworld tv option, and other PJFarmer news

Chris Lotts at the Ralph Vicinanza Agency reports selling “a major TV option” on Philip Jose Farmer‘s Riverworld series to Hallmark Productions via Vince Gerardis at Created By.
In other Farmer news, Lotts re-sold US rights to Dare to IDW Press.
And Farmer, aged ninety was feted at the “90th Annual” FarmerCon in Peoria. For the last three years, the gathering has been convened annually by Farmer enthusiasts to celebrate his life and work. One of the attendees at this year’s get-together has posted a slew of photos here.

As one of the participants at last month’s FarmerCon event, news of interest in filmed adaptations of Phil’s work is welcome indeed. My only hope at this point is that they do a better job with “Riverworld” than the TV movie that the Sci-Fi Channel did a few years back.

This is great news!! The Riverworld is one of my favorite science fiction series!! I am looking forward to the new films and hope that they do a better job of it than the one on the Scifi channel a few years back.
Dare is also one one my favorite PJF stand alone novels. I am looking forward to seeing R’li in the flesh, so to speak.
