Philadelphia Fantastic Reading with Tom Purdom tonight

Tonight, the Philadelphia Fantastic Authors and Editors Series will present Tom Purdom reading from his latest story, “Madame Pompadour’s Blade,” which appears in the June edition of Jim Baen’s Universe. As with all their readings, it will be at 7:30PM Robins Bookstores, 108 S. 13th Street, Philadelpia, Pennsylvania.
Robin’s Bookstore also webcasts the readings on robinsbookstoreonline.com (click the button that says “Click to Hear Philadelphia Fantastic Authors and Editors Series”). Series coordinator Oz Fontecchio warns “Because our series is now also webcast, we will be starting promptly at 7:30PM. For those used to our more relaxed starting time of the past, please note the change in our approach.” And as always, a pay-as-you-go dinner will follow the event.
Purdom’s short stories and novelettes have appeared in Asimov’s, Analog, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Galaxy, Amazing, other SF magazines, and various anthologies. His novels have been published by Ace (I Want the Stars, The Treelord of Imeten, Five Against Arlane, and The Barons of Behavior), and Berkley (Reduction in Arms). He is the editor of one anthology, Adventures in Discovery (Doubleday, 1969), a collection of specially commissioned articles on science by Asimov, Silverberg, Anderson, and other leading science fiction writers of the time. Purdom is also a music critic.
The Series is held the fourth Friday of every month. In July, they’ll have a triple reading, with Gardner Dozois, Michael Swanwick, and Tom Purdom. Their August reader will be Paul Levinson, with Gregory Frost following in September, and Judy Moffett in October.
