Dog photo contest for Nancy Kress’s Dogs

Tachyon Publications claims it is “going to the dogs.” In honor of the forthcoming publication of Nancy Kress‘s Dogs, Tachyon “wants to see your dog. The Dogs photo contest has begun and readers worldwide are sending in pictures of their beloved pets.… Skinny dogs, fat dogs, big dogs, little dogs, post your favorite pictures of your dog here by 31 July. The team at Tachyon Publications will pick three very lucky dogs and their owners to win a special gift pack, including a signed copy of Dogs and some delectable doggy treats.”
Tachyon also gives this description of the book:
Ex-FBI agent Tessa Sanderson has moved to Tyler, the sleepy Maryland town where she is trying to forget the tragedy of her husband’s death. But her peaceful new life will be shattered, as her new neighbors are suddenly and viciously attacked by their own beloved dogs. The CDC quickly determines that the dogs are infected with a mutated flu triggering the aggression center of their brains; the virus is highly transmissible and there is no known cure. While the feds ruthlessly enact a secret emergency quarantine, suspicious locals prepare to protect their pets by any means necessary. Tyler is ready for war.
While struggling to assist the enigmatic Animal Control officer Jess Langstrom, Sanderson is protecting two dark secrets: she is the widow of an Arab who roused the suspicions of her FBI colleagues, and someone is sending her threatening emails in Arabic claiming responsibility for the virus. Already a suspect and running out of time, Tessa Sanderson must go deep undercover in order to expose a deadly conspiracy.
A riveting thriller in the vein of
The Andromeda Strain and Cujo, Dogs is a breathless ride that will engross and terrify you.
