Ansible and The Independent report the death of Norwegian actress and model Julie Ege on 29 April 2008 of cancer. Born 12 November 1943 in Sandnes, Norway, she was Miss Norway 1962. She appeared as one of the ten girls being brainwashed by Blofeld in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969, George Lazenby’s only turn as the superspy). Despite spending nearly three months on the set filming, she only appeared on screen for a few moments.
Her other genre appearances include: The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires (1974), The Mutations (1974), Craze (1974), The Final Programme (1973), and Creatures the World Forgot (1971).
After retiring from acting (she had only one role in the 1980s and one in the 1990s), she earned a degree in nursing and worked as nurse in Oslo until her death. Twice divorced, Ege had two daughters.
