Actor Bobbie Anderson died 6 June 2008 of melanoma. Born Robert J. Anderson—and also known as Bob—on 6 March 1933 to a Hollywood family, he is best known for playing the young George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life (1946). Though he appeared in twenty other films and tv shows, it was the role as the younger version of Jimmy Stewart’s character that brought him his fame. And though he didn’t leave the industry, his last appearances were in the mid-1950s on The Further Adventures of Spin and Marty. Then he moved behind the camera, building a career as a director and producer.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria, three sons, three daughters, eleven grandchildren, a brother, and a sister. Donations in his his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
