Top Box Office Grossers: Fourth Week of April

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 25 April-1 May 2008. The Forbidden Kingdom dropped from #1 to #4 in its second week, behind two brand new films (Baby Mama and Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo) and another that opened last week (Forgetting Sarah Marshall). This week, Kingdom grossed $13.9 million dollars, for a two-week total of $40.9 million. Nim’s Island actually climbed one spot, from #6 to #5, taking in $5.4 million for a four-week total of $39.8 million. Prom Night dropped from #3 to #6, grossing $5.2 million for a three-week total of $38.9 million. Horton Hears a Who dropped from #8 to #10, taking in $3.0 million, for a seven-week total of $148.5 million.
Superhero Movie is down from #12 to #15, bringing in $1.0 million for a five-week total of $25.0 million. The Ruins dropped from #13 to #18, with a box office take of just over $500 thousand, for a four-week total of $16.8 million. 10,000 B.C. is still with us, down from #16 to #21 in its eighth week in release, garnering almost $500 thousand for a total of $93.5 million.
Shutter fell out of the top 25 in its sixth week in release. It fell from #25 to #34.
