Orthopedic Horseshoes: new sf talk radio program

Orthopedic Horseshoes is a monthly half-hour internet talk show that launched in January 2008. The show appears on ThinkTwiceRadio.com as one of more than 30 shows.
The published mission statement for Orthopedic Horseshoes is: cranky old men discourse on American Society and media. Needless to say, since co-hosts Herb Kauderer and Alan Katerinsky are SF personalities, their discourse often touches on science, SF/F/H, and other subjects of interest to fans of those topics.
“Our goal is to offer a more mainstream audience a window into the kinds of conversations we often have at SF conventions, or driving to and from them,” writes Kauderer.
Their February episode, “Potter is a Comfort Food & Other Fantasies”, includes a discussion into the actual nature of, and need for, fantasy. Terry Pratchett and his books are also discussed. The March episode, “We Were Not the First to Misbehave Romantically”, includes a consideration into the changing nature of aging. The April episode, “Cows in the Living Room”, features filk performer Pete Grubbs who has performed at Worldcons.
The current, May episode, “The American Century is Dead”, features a half-hour chat with SF writer Robert J. Sawyer that is described on the ThinkTwice website as: Herb, Al, & Rob “discuss gas prices and red herrings, a national vision for all mankind or at least for energy policy, loving America, the military draft, JFK’s legacy, Uncle Sam and the Tar Baby, and who really puts money in your pocket.”
The June episode, posting 9 June, will feature Dr. David DeGraff (Head of Astronomy at Alfred University) in an extensive discussion of the nature of teaching science. Future shows will include SF authors James Alan Gardner, Edo van Belkom, and others.
