Virgin Comics and the Sci Fi Channel‘s year-old joint venture has produced The Stranded, the fourth issue of which will be released next month. Now comes word that they’re preparing for their second title, Superbia, which will launch this summer. They describe the new comic as “the Justice League meets Wisteria Lane.” The story “centers on Woodshire Village, a planned community for superheroes and their spouses, girlfriends and domestic partners,” and is created and written by Lisa Klink and Jordan Gorfinkle.
The Stranded asks the question “What if your entire life was a lie? For the Stranded, it’s true. They’ve been sent here from another world and scattered around the country, their minds wiped, and given cover identites for some unknown purpose. But now the Forgotten, devastators of their homeworld, have sent a half-human assassin to kill them… one by one. Unless they can unleash the hidden powers within themselves, they, too, will become forgotten.” It is written by Mike Carey, with art by Siddharth Kotian.
