Assistant Editor Douglas Cohen reports that editor Shawna McCarthy is planning a Halloween issue of Realms of Fantasy, and that they’re looking for stories starting now. The Halloween issue will be the December 2009 issue (scheduled to be on the newsstands in October 2009). Yes, you read that right: 2009, not 2008. Cohen says “The story doesn’t have to be about Halloween. It can deal with ghosts, vampires, witches, things that go bump in the night… you get the idea.” He says they’ll need seven stories for the issue, but that they should be submitted in the usual manner (except you can write “Halloween Submission” on the envelope).
