Older Writers Grant Available

The Speculative Literature Foundation (SLF) is again offering their annual Older Writers Grant for a writer at least 50 years old who is “just starting to work at a professional level.” The $750 grant is awarded on the basis of merit as determined by a 500-word autobiographical statement; a 10,000-word writing sample (fiction; or 10 pages of poetry or drama); and a one-page bibliography.
For more information, including how to apply, see this page. Application deadline is 31 March.
The SLF’s mission statement is “To promote literary quality in speculative fiction, by encouraging promising new writers, assisting established writers, facilitating the work of quality magazines and small presses in the genre, and developing a greater public appreciation of speculative fiction.”
