Razzy Award Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 28th annual Golden Raspberry Awards, populary known as the Razzies, were announced Monday. The Razzies are “a logical antidote to Tinsel Town’s annual glut of self-congratulations [created] by John Wilson, author of Everything I Know I Learned at the Movies.” The awards ceremony—at which the organizers expect none of the nominees to appear (though they have been surprised in the past, most notably by Halle Berry accepting her Razzy for Catwoman)—will be at 10AM on Saturday 23 February at Magicopolis in Santa Monica, California.
This year’s genre nominees include:
Jessica Alba, who is nominated for Worst Actress for her work in Awake, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Good Luck Chuck.
Jessica Alba & Ioan Gruffudd, who are nominated for Worst Screen Couple for their work in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Alba is also nominated with Hayden Christensen for Awake, and with Dane Cook for Good Luck Chuck.
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is nominated for Worst Prequel or Sequel, and also for Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie.
Orlanda Bloom, who is nominated for Worst Supporting Actor for his work in Pirates of the Carob-bean: At Wit’s End [sic].
Nicholas Cage, who is nominated for Worst Actor for his work in Ghost Rider, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, and Next.
Captivity is nominated for Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie.
Jim Carrey, who is nominated for Worst Actor for his work in The Number 23.
Elisha Cuthbert, who is nominated for Worst Actress for her work in Captivity.
Evan Almighty is nominated for Worst Prequel or Sequel.
Hannibal Rising is nominated for Worst Prequel or Sequel, and also for Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie.
Hostel: Part II is nominated for Worst Prequel or Sequel, and also for Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie.
I Know Who Killed Me, written by Jeffrey Hammond, is nominated for Worst Picture; Worst Remake or Rip-Off (ripping off Hostel, Saw, and The Patty Duke Show); Worst Screenplay; and also for Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie.
Roland Joffe is nominated for Worst Director for his work on Captivity.
Lindsay Lohan (as Aubrey) is nominated for Worst Actress for her work in I Know Who Killed Me.
Lindsay Lohan (as Dakota) is nominated for Worst Actress for her work in I Know Who Killed Me.
Lindsay Lohan & Lindsay Lohan (“as the yang to her own yin”) are nominated for Worst Screen Couple for their work in I Know Who Killed Me.
