Top Box Office Grossers: Third Week in November

Variety reports the top 25 movies for the week of 16-22 November in terms of box office take. Beowulf opened in the number one spot, bringing in just under $41 million. Last week’s #3 opener moved down to #4 this week, as Fred Claus grossed $18.5 million for a two-week take of $42.3 million. Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium opened in fifth place, earning $14.2 million. Saw IV dropped from #6 to #9, taking in $2.9 million for a four-week total of $62.4 million.
30 Days of Night dropped out of the top ten, from #8 to #15, grossing $1.2 million for a five-week total of $39.4 million. Martian Child is dropping hard and fast, from #10 to #24, bringing in $600 thousand for a three-week total of $7.3 million.
Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D dropped off the list in its fifth week (last week it was at #20). And Horrorfest 2 apparently closed after one week.
