Top Box Office Grossers: Fifth Week in October

Variety reports the top 25 movies for the week of 26 October-1 November in terms of box office take. New release Saw IV opened at the top of the charts, taking in $40 million in its first week. Last week’s #1, 30 Days of Night, dropped to #3, grossing $9.6 million for a two-week total of $30.2 million (new release Dan in Real Life opened in #2). Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D dropped from #7 to #9 in its second week in release, grossing $4.6 million this week for a total of $11.3 million.
Transformers is still in the top 25, this week dropping from #24 to #25, grossing nearly $375 thousand for a seventeen week total of $318.8 million.
Last week’s #17, Resident Evil: Extinction, dropped out of the top 25 in its sixth week. Last week’s #25, The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, dropped out of the top 25 in its fourth week in release.
