Reader Scott Carlson writes on 14 October 2007:
I do like you reviews of Bionic Woman, but I have to say you missed (or at least didn’t point out) something that was way wrong.
Sarah Corvus injected herself with “whatever” mystery drug is controlling her. Into her bionic arm? Huh?
And in this epiosode Jamie apparently forgot all about the secret dossier that Will had on her?
Keep up the good work. Hopefully someone in Hollywood is listening.
Reviewer Sarah Stegall responds:
As you point out, very little of Jaime Sommers’s character seems to be consistent, whether it’s her relationship with her suddenly rehabilitated sister or her late fiance. I could write an entire review about the “holes” in her characterization, but what would be the fun in that? As for Sarah Corvus’ self-injection, I assumed that her “bionics” would be less mechanical and more biological, or else how would any bionic person ever make it through airport security? I’m thinking the bionic people are closer to the replicants in Bladerunner than the mechanical prostheses of Luke Skywalker and his dad in Star Wars. On the other hand, maybe it’s just an inconsistency, which this show abounds in. I don’t know if Hollywood is paying attention, but I’m glad my readers are. Thanks for writing!
