ComicMix now publishing comics

After several months of talking about comics, ComicMix.com has launched its second phase, and is actually giving away comics online. In this, their first week in the comic publishing side of things, they’ve got the first installments of three titles, all edited by Mike Gold.
Black Ice is written by Mike Baron, with art by Nick Runge, Matt Webb, and Bob Pinaha. Black Ice tells us “Neil Kofsky has taken wild risks all his life, always looking for the next thrill ride. But this time, a simple bet has taken him someplace he never expected to be—and for him, the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been.”
EZ Street is written by Robert Tinnell and Mark Wheatley, with art by Wheatley. In week one, “Scott and Danny Fletcher just want to tell stories—fabulous stories about heroes and adventure. The brothers decide to create a comic book because, as young boys growing up on Ezelle Street in Pittsburgh, it’s what they could do. But now they’re grown up and have jobs, responsibilities, debt, and stress. Danny is a graphic designer and Scott tries to make movies in Hollywood. And they want much more from their lives…”
GrimJack: The Manx Cat is written by John Ostrander, with art by Timothy Truman, Lovern Kindierski, and John Workman. This is the story of “Sweet Cynosure, where the dimensions meet. Magic works here, tech works there, swords and a bad attitude work everywhere. It hasn’t gotten prettier—and neither has John Gaunt, best known here as GrimJack. Now he’s on the trail of the elusive Manx Cat, which just might have a tale of its own…”
You want get very far into any of the stories this week, as they’ve only published a few pages of each. But we’re expecting weekly updates, and the price is right, so this is a site for comics readers to keep their eyes on.
