Following up our earlier story listing some nominees for the Quill Awards, the winners have been announced. In June, we listed the nominees in the graphic novel and science fiction/fantasy/horror categories. The winners in those categories are:
Graphic Novel: Making Comics: Storytelling Secrets of Comics, Manga and Graphic Novels by Scott McCloud (Harper Paperbacks)
Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (DAW Books)
We didn’t detail the nominees in the general fiction category, but the winner is definitely a genre novel: The Road by Cormac McCarthy (Alfred A. Knopf). The other nominees in this category were: Brothers by Da Chen (Shaye Areheart Books/Crown Publishing); American Youth by Phil LaMarche (Random House); Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl (Viking Press); and Jamestown by Matthew Sharpe (Soft Skull Press)
The full list of winners in all 19 categories is available on this page.
