Three New Doctor Who Audiobooks Coming Soon

On 3 September, BBC Audio will be releasing three new Doctor Who titles: two fiction and one non-fiction.

Interviewees include David Tennant, Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman, Catherine Tate, Sarah Parish, Jessica Hynes, Thomas Sangster, and other stars of Series Two and Three, as well as behind-the-scenes features with Russell T. Davies, Susie Liggat, and Edward Thomas.
There are also Doctor Who-related features and interviews from Blue Peter, Breakfast, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, Front Row, and Jo Whiley Meets Dr. Who, as well as extracts from BBC Radio Wales’s Doctor Who—Back in Time series. And rounding out the collection are comedy sketches from the Dead Ringers and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue teams, and a “bonus peek at the Christmas episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures.”
The two-CD package (running time: two hours) is priced at £13.99 (ISBN: 9781405676939) It will also be available for download for £9.00.
Also being released on 3 September are two classic story novelizations by Malcolm Hulke.
Caroline John reads Doctor Who and the Cave Monsters, wherein “All is not well at the Wenley Moor underground atomic research station: there are unaccountable losses of power-output; nervous breakdowns amongst the staff; and then—a death!
“UNIT is called in, and the Brigadier is soon joined by Doctor Who and Liz Shaw in a tense and exciting adventure with subterranean reptile men—Silurians—and a 40-foot high Tyrannosaurus rex, the biggest, most savage mammal [sic] which ever trod the Earth!”
John played Liz Shaw in Doctor Who and the Silurians. This audiobook is the unabridged novelization first published in 1974. It’s estimated running time is 5 hours 15 minutes on 4 CDs. £17.99 (ISBN: 9781405677998)
Also being released that day is Geoffrey Beevers’s reading of Doctor Who and the Doomsday Weapon (another unabridged audio version of the 1974 novelization). In this one “The evil Master has stolen the Time Lords’ file on the horrifying Doomsday Weapon with which, when he finds it, he can blast whole planets out of existence and make himself ruler of the Galaxy!
“The Time Lords direct Doctor Who and Jo Grant in their TARDIS to a bleak planet in the year 2471, where they find colonists from Earth under threat from mysterious, savage, monster lizards with frightful claws. And hidden upon the planet is the Doomsday Weapon, for which the Master is intently searching…”
This one has an estimated running time of 4 hours 40 minutes on 4 CDs. £17.99 (ISBN: 9781405677950)
