Science Fiction Awards Watch is another new web site

Hot on the heels of the creation of TheHugoAwards.org comes word that Cheryl Morgan and Kevin Standlee have started Science Fiction Awards Watch. Why create this site? Well, Morgan and Standlee say “there are few things that the science fiction community likes to talk about more than awards, so we thought it might be good to have a central place where these conversations can take place. To that end we will be providing: A list of awards, with details of how they are decided; Prompt news about this awards, including live reporting from some award ceremonies; A recommendation list (covering many awards, not just the Hugos); Discussions of award short lists and favored candidates for nomination; And, of course, a blog.”
They’ve launched in time to start discussions just before the Hugos are awarded in Yokohama, and they’ve got their first poll up and waiting for votes. They’ve also lined up several contributors, including: Karen Burnham, John Clute, Mario Guslandi, Victoria Hoyle, Michael Levy, Pádraig Ó Méalóid, Chris Roberson, Anna Tambour, and Gary K. Wolfe.
