It looks like we missed this when it happened (shame on the New York Book Festival for not telling us; shame on us for not finding it). And thanks, Gina Farago, for pointing it out. Farago is a horror author who won the “Genre Based” category (see below).
The New York Book Festival was held 23 June 2007 in New York City’s Central Park. The Festival gave juried awards in a number of categories to submitted books based on 1) the story-telling ability of the author, and 2) the potential of the work to win wider recognition.
