Nadia Cornier at the Firebrand Literary Agency is looking to hire a new part-time agency assistant. The previous assistant left to take a full-time position elsewhere.
She writes: “We’re looking for someone who can work with us in our Brooklyn [New York]-based literary agency. We have a small office, and we work together closely on almost every project (“we” includes interns, agents, etc.), so while we aren’t necessarily looking for someone who wants a career in publishing—we definitely want someone who is reliable, resourceful and smarter than everyone else they know. We want someone who can take a to-do list and maul it to death, who has a great sense of humor, doesn’t believe in ‘drinking the Kool Aid’ and isn’t likely to blog about the weird conversations that happen here.”
They’re looking for someone to:
Manage submissions and respond to inquiries
Provide administrative support (manage agency calendar, confirm meetings)
Track contracts, checks and other important paperwork
Read and evaluate requested material
Keep our databases up to date
Hire and supervise interns
And more!
They want someone who’ll work 10-15 hours a week (Mondays are required; other days are flexible). Interested applicants should send an email with salary requirements to nadia at firebrandliterary dot com.
