Asimov’s Science Fiction magazine has announced the fiction line-up for their October/November 2007 issue. It is:
“Galaxy Blues” by Allen M. Steele
“Skull Valley” by Michael Cassutt
“Dark Integers” by Greg Egan
“Night Calls” by Robert Reed
“Nightfall” by Isaac Asimov
“At Sixes and Sevens” by Carol Emshwiller
“Paid in Full” by Susan Forest
“Debatable Lands” by Liz Williams
“Leonid Skies” by Carl Frederick
“Dark Rooms” by Lisa Goldstein
“The Turn” by Chris Butler
“Galaxy Blues” is part one of the four-part Down and Out on Coyote, another novel in Steele’s Coyote universe.
“Nightfall” is a reprint of Isaac Asimov’s classic story, originally published in Astounding Science Fiction‘s September 1941 issue, and is part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the magazine. Robert Reed’s “Night Calls” is an homage to “Nightfall,” and with Carl Frederick’s “Leonid Skies”—which also looks up—forms a loose triptych in honor of the magazine’s namesake.
