Invisible Man sequel coming to the big screen

Variety reports that Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have hired David Goyer to write and direct The Invisible Man, which will be a new take on the H.G. Wells classic.
The new film will actually be a sequel to the original story. It focuses on a British nephew of the original Invisible Man who discovers his uncle’s formula for achieving invisibility in the 1940s. He is then recruited by British intelligence agency MI5.
Talking about the project, Goyer said “I’ve always been a fan of the original H.G. Wells book as well as the Universal film and felt the property was ripe for reimagining.”
Goyer previously directed The Invisible and Blade: Trinity, and is planning to direct the X-Men spinoff Magneto for Fox.
