Cecilia Tan, publisher and editor of Circlet Press, will give a presentation entitled “How I Edited 30 Anthologies of Erotic Science Fiction and Kept My Sanity (I think…)” at San Francisco’s Borderlands Books on Thursday 5 July at 7PM. According to Tan, it will be “a fun-filled one hour lecture on the trials and travails of being the world’s only publisher specializing in erotic science fiction and fantasy. Being a pioneer in a new literary genre can be fun, if frightening to the sensibilities from time to time.” Topics she expects to cover include the Top Five Worst Story Ideas, and how they compare to the Even Worse Titles list.
The talk will be “full of information and tips for aspiring writers, readers and fans of either genre, and post-modern literary ciritics in the making.” This event is a benefit for The Center for Sex and Culture, and donations are gratefully accepted but not at all required.
