Tomorrow, 5 May 2007, is Free Comic Book Day. In fact, it’s the sixth time this event has been held. As www.freecomicbookday.com says, “Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world are giving away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their stores.” By and large, all the participating stores are independent comic dealers. The web site has a ZIP code finder, to tell you which comic shops nearest you are participating.
In addition to the comics give-aways, there are numerous in-store signings scheduled in at least 31 US states and 3 Canadian provinces.
