Comic-book artist Marshall Rogers died on 25 March 2007. Born on 22 January 1950 in Flushing, Queens, New York, he made his name illustrating six issues of Detective Comics in 1977 and 1978. During this run, Batman was redefined as an urban vigilante, bringing him back to his pulp roots and shaking off the campy features that came with the 1960s’ television series.
Rogers’ other work for DC included stints on Green Lantern, Justice League, Superman, and others. He also worked for Eclipse and Marvel (Silver Surfer and Spider-Man).
