The Writers of the Future (WotF) contest has announced the winners for the fourth quarter of 2006.
First place (and $1,000) goes to Andrea Kail of New York, New York.
Second place (and $750) goes to Edward Sevcik of Austin, Texas.
Third place (and $500) goes to John Burridge of Eugene, Oregon.
Their winning stories, along with those of the winners from the previous three quarters, will be appearing in the Writers of the Future XXIII volume to be published later this year. The winners of the quarterly Illustrators of the Future contest should be announced in the coming days.
The WotF was started in 1983 by L. Ron Hubbard, and awards quarterly prizes — along with an annual $4,000 grand prize — to new writers. Entry is free, and details are available at www.writersofthefuture.com.
