Comic Artist Joe Edwards

Artist Joe Edwards died 8 February 2007, following years of heart problems. Born in New York City on 6 December 1921, he studied art and animation, and served in the Army in World War II. During the war, he was stationed in Italy, and illustrated training manuals and drew cartoons warning of minefields.
Upon his return to the States, he worked for Demby Studios, Dell Comics, and Timely Comics (which later became Marvel). Best known for his work on the Archie comics, he also worked on Super Duck and Captain Sprocket
