David Pomerico to be new Executive Editor at Harper Voyager

A  press release from Pamela Spengler-Jaffee of HarperCollins:

We are pleased to announce that David Pomerico will be joining William Morrow/Harper Voyager as Executive Editor beginning May 28, reporting to Jennifer Brehl, Senior Vice President, Executive Editor, and Director of Editorial Development, William Morrow & Voyager. In his new role, David will oversee the day-to-day editorial operations of Harper Voyager US.

About Pomerico’s move to Harper Voyager, Brehl says: “We’re excited to welcome David to the HarperCollins family. His enthusiasm for speculative fiction combined with his experiences with diverse publishing models gives him a unique perspective on genre publishing today – and keen insights for the future.”

David most recently spent two years as acquiring editor at 47North, the speculative fiction imprint of Amazon Publishing, where he worked with authors such as Jeff Wheeler, Paul Antony Jones, Denise Grover Swank and Marko Kloos, among others.  David began his career in the Random House Associates Program, after which he worked at the science fiction and fantasy imprints Bantam Spectra and Del Rey. A lifelong aficionado of genre fiction, David is a graduate of Binghamton University, and holds Masters Degrees from Washington University and New York University.

About his move to Harper Voyager, Pomerico says: “I’ve been incredibly lucky to work with brilliant and talented people – both authors and colleagues – during my career, and I’m already able to say that about Harper Voyager. With such an amazing list of authors, a fantastic backlist, and a future that is wide-open, I can’t wait to start this new chapter in both my life and the life of this storied imprint.”
