Baen Ebooks Brings its Catalogue to Kobo

baen-20logotransSmallA press release from Laura Haywood-Cory of Baen Books:

Ebook pioneer Baen Books is making its ebooks available for download via Kobo’s world-class eReading platform at Kobo.com. For the first time, people will be able to enjoy Baen ebooks on Kobo’s eReaders, tablets, and free reading apps on March 24, 2014. Science fiction and fantasy publisher Baen Books has sold its own ebooks for over fifteen years at Baen’s retail site, Baenebooks.com, where ebooks have always been downloadable totally free of digital rights restrictions. Baen has built a name for itself in the ebook arena with an innovative e-Advanced Reading Copy program and limited time monthly discount bundles. Through this agreement, Baen’s titles, which are all DRM-free, will be made available to millions of Kobo customers around the world.

“Kobo users are an important part of the ebook market. Kobo has a particularly strong presence among independent-minded ebook readers worldwide,” said Baen Publisher Toni Weisskopf.  “Now it will be easier than ever to download your favorite Weber, Ringo, or Bujold ebook to your Kobo eReader or app.”

Baen’s well-known ebook programs will still be available exclusively at Baenebooks.com, according to Weisskopf.

Baen is known for its New York Times bestselling science fiction and fantasy, including David Weber’s Honor Harrington series, Eric Flint’s Ring of Fire alternate histories, Larry Correia’s Monster Hunter International urban fantasies, and Lois McMaster Bujold’s Vorkosigan Saga, its most recent entry on this week’s list. Baen’s paper titles are distributed by Simon & Schuster.
