Open casting call for Aladdin 3477 feature film

promo1loA press release from Matt Busch of Aladdin 3477:

Open casting calls have begun for the live-action feature film, Aladdin 3477, based on the classic Arabian Nights tale, set 1,500 years in the future. The independent production is written and directed by Star Wars Artist Matt Busch, who’s illustrations are recognized around the world, his books have become New York Times bestsellers, and his independent movies, documentaries, and videos have shattered records. Years in the making, Aladdin 3477 has already received an incredible amount of buzz world-wide, and is finally set to begin filming this May, produced by Kaleidoscope Koi Entertainment, LLC.

The epic sci-fi adventure is not a musical like Disney’s Aladdin, nor is it animated. The film is said to look more like Star Wars and set in futuristic Asia. Preliminary filming for background plates have already been shot in India, Thailand, the Kingdom of Cambodia, China, and Switzerland. The majority of principle photography will take place on sets and locations throughout Michigan this year.

Director Matt Busch spent most of the ’90’s working in Hollywood on movies like Con-Air and The Matrix before becoming internationally recognized for his work with licensed entertainment properties like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Indiana Jones. “I’m so happy to be making this movie in Michigan,” comments Busch, “The creative energy here is amazing and we have that ‘Detroit Hustles Harder’ work ethic. Michigan also offers such vast landscapes from forests to sand dunes to heavy industrial areas, which is perfect for the vision of this movie.”

Casting Director Brandt Keller has put the casting call information on the Aladdin 3477 movie website. The production is looking for male and female actors of all sizes and all ages over 18. While seeking all ethnicities, Brandt mentions that Asian, Indian, and Middle Eastern could be a plus. Acting experience is also not required, but a plus. Applications can be made through the web site by emailing basic information and a head shot or photo before January 31st, 2014. Considered applicants will be contacted for auditions, which will take place between January and March of this year.

Aladdin 3477 is an independent and non-union production. All parts are paid and/or compensated. You can find out more about Aladdin 3477 at the official website, www.Aladdin3477.com. More casting and production updates will be posted at the website as they are made known.
