Author Philip Nutman Dies

389106_10150399507909456_1129013384_nAuthor Philip Nutman died 7 October 2013 of acute organ failure in a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Born 9 July 1963 in the UK, he started writing for Fangoria as a teenager, and worked as a producer’s assistant for BBC-TV in the mid-1980s. He moved on to work as a movie reviewer and a feature journalist for many magazines, and also wrote comics, screenplays, and one novel, Wet Work (1993), which was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award for First Novel. His short fiction appeared in many horror anthologies. He co-wrote the screenplay for the 2007 horror film The Girl Next Door (which he also associate produced), and he produced 2012’s Abed. Nutman also had acting credits in Abed, Dear God No! (2011), and Death Collector (1988).
