Sturgeon, Campbell, and Lifeboat Award winners

The winners of this year’s Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award (for best short science fiction story published in 2012) and for this year’s John W. Campbell Memorial Award (for best science-fiction novel of 2012) were announced this weekend during the Campbell Conference at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. And added to the roster of awards handed out this year was the new “Lifeboat to the Stars” Award (see this article).

The winners are:

Theodore Sturgeon Award: “The Grinnell Method” by Molly Gloss (first published in Strange Horizons, 3 September & 10 September 2012)

John W. Campbell Award: [[[Jack Glass: The Story of a Murderer]]] by Adam Roberts (published by Gollancz)

Lifeboat to the Stars Award: [[[Tau Ceti]]] by Kevin J. Anderson and Steve Savile (published by Arc Manor)
