Top Box Office Grossers: First Week in March

Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 27 February-5 March 2009. Coraline fell from #3 to #7, earning $6.5 million, for a four-week total of $62.4 million. Friday the 13th dropped from #6 to #10, grossing $4.8 million, for a three-week total of $61.8 million.

Push fell from #13 to #16, taking in $2.9 million, for a four-week total of $28.5 million. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button dropped from #17 to #20, this week taking in $1.1 million, for a ten-week total of $125.7 million. The Uninvited was down from #18 to #21, earning $925 thousand, for a five-week total of $27.2 million. Twilight climbed again, from #25 to #23, bringing in $700 thousand, for a fifteen-week total of $190.3 million.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans fell out of the top 25, from last week's #20, in its sixth week in release.
