2009 Golden Globe Nominees Announced

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association almost completely snubbed science fiction/fantasy/horror in this year's Golden Globe Award nominations. The nominations were announced today; the award ceremony takes place at 8PM EST on 11 January 2009, and will be televast live on NBC. The 66th Golden Globes will be the first of the new year's television and movie awards.

SF/F/H film nominees are:

Bolt: nominated for Animated Feature Film; nominated for Original Song ("I Thought I Lost You")

The Dark Knight: nominated for Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (Heath Ledger)

Kung Fu Panda: nominated for Animated Feature Film

Wall-E: nominated for Animated Feature Film; nominated for Original Song ("Down to Earth")

SF/F/H television nominees are:

True Blood: nominated for Television Series—Drama; nominated for Actress in a Television Series—Drama (Anna Paquin)

24: Redemption: nominated for Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture made for Television (Kiefer Sutherland)
