Pulpcon changing its name to PulpFest

By Ian Randal Strock

After 38 Pulpcons in Ohio, there's been some conflict over ownership of the name. Rather than fighting with the founders of the convention (who had trademarked the name, but neglected to renew the registration), the current management team (Jack Cullers, Ed Hulse, Barry Traylor, and Mike Chomko) have decided to change the name. The newly branded PulpFest 2009 will be held in Columbus, Ohio, from 31 July to 2 August 2009. The PulpFest.com web site isn't yet in operation, but the current information is still available on the Pulpcon web site.

The convention features pulp magazines, paper collectibles such as movie posters and books, B-movies, radio shows, and more.

[Edited 9 November 2008: The new web site, PulpFest.com, is now up and running.]
