Edward M. Lerner's new blog

By Ian Randal Strock

Technologist and SF author Edward M. Lerner is now blogging his thoughts (and occasionally fuming) about the state of science, fiction, and science fiction. Early posts have explored topics as varied as SETI, Sesame Street, the hysteria attending the start-up of the Large Hadron Collider, and the graying of fandom.

Lerner tells us that upcoming posts will look at bad science in SF, the bad-science tropes (or are they bad science?) readers are happy to accept, and the wandering in the desert that is modern string theory.

Lerner's background is in physics and computer science. Before turning full-time to writing, he worked at such techie havens as Bell Labs, Hughes Aircraft, and Northrop Grumman. His latest book is Juggler of Worlds, co-written with Larry Niven.

His blog, "SF and Nonsense," is at edward-m-lerner.blogspot.com.
