Lawrence M. Schoen sells Buffalito Destiny to Hadley Rille

By Ian Randal Strock

Klingon language expert and author Lawrence M. Schoen sold his first novel, Buffalito Destiny, to Eric Reynolds of Hadley Rille Press. The book will be a book-length adventure featuring the characters from Schoen's series of short stories about stage hypnotist-turned-CEO the Amazing Conroy, and his alien animal companion, a football-sized, bison-like creature that can eat anything and farts oxygen. Schoen expects the book to top the scales at about 100,000 words, which will provide ample room to include supporting characters and aliens such as Left-John Mocker, Dr. Elizabeth Penrose, The Hat, Lilbrittah and Hreshtil, and many more.

In addition to being Schoen's first novel, it will also be Hadley Rille's first. Up to now, the small press publisher has focused on anthologies (several of which have included stories by Schoen).
