SFWA appoints three new coordinators

With the 1 July change of administration come several new appointments for the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA). New President Russell Davis recently announced:
Jayme Lynn Blaschke has been appointed Communications & Marketing Director. Blaschke, a member since 1997, has reporting and editing experience, as well as a background in public relations and media relations. He was the chairman of SFWA’s Publicity Committee. In the new post, he “will be ensuring that SFWA gets better and more marketing and publicity opportunities, as well as helping develop ways to communicate and share information with and from the members.”
Cat Rambo has been appointed chairman of the SFWA Copyright Committee. Rambo, a member since 2005, is the co-editor of Fantasy Magazine, and has worked in the fields of network security and technology writing, as well as teaching. She has worked with both the Copyright Exploratory Committee and the Copyright Committee, as well as written copy for the Nebula web site.
Steven H. Silver has been appointed to the new position of SFWA Events Coordinator. Silver is the founder of the Sidewise Award for Alternate History, and an eight-time nominee for the Best Fan Writer Hugo Award. He was the Programming Chairman for the 2000 WorldCon, and chaired two Windycons. He was also the liaison from the 2004 WorldCon to SFWA, and helped organize the 2005 Nebula Weekend in Chicago. In his new post, Silver will be “ensuring that SFWA Events such as the Nebula Award Weekend and the SFWA Suite at WorldCon operate in a successful manner.He’ll also be helping to establish a SFWA presence at other conventions and ensuring that future administrations have all the records necessary to continue building these events successfully.”
