SFPA's third annual sf poetry contest

By Ian Randal Strock

The Science Fiction Poetry Association is announcing its third annual poetry contest, which will be open to submissions from 1 August to 31 August. Any form of poetry is welcome, but all poems must be no longer than 20 lines. This year's theme is "Energy", and they say "any type of energy is welcome, from the most high tech-based to the magical and mystical." As always, they're interested in science fiction, fantasy, or horror poetry, and they're limiting the number of entries to three per author (all poems must be original and unpublished). The contest is open to all; membership in the SFPA is not required to enter.

Prizes will include cash, publication, a Waterman pen, signed books, memberships in the organization, and more. The judging committee—Jaime Lee Moyer, W. Gregory Stewart, chairman Marcie Tentchoff, and s.c. virtes—will announce the winners in mid-September.
