Go! Comi renews Diamond distribution deal

By Ian Randal Strock

Go! Comi has renewed their agreement with Diamond Book Distributors for two more years. DBD will remain as the exclusive North American distributor of Go! Comi's books to the bookstore, library, warehouse, mass merchandise, specialty mass merchandise, hobby, game and comic book specialty markets.

Go! Comi—a division of Go! Media Entertainment—debuted in late 2005 with the goal of "publishing Japanese comics for the American market, and in creating new manga and manga-oriented properties for both the Japanese and American markets." Some of their titles include Her Majesty's Dog by Mick Takeuchi, After School Nightmare by Setona Mizushiro, Night of the Beasts by Chika Shiomi, Black Sun Silver Moon by Tomo Maeda, and Train + Train by Tomomasa Takuma and Hideyuki Kurata. Go! Comi's Cantarella series by You Higuri was chosen by the American Library Association (ALA) for one of their "Read" posters, marking the first time a Japanese manga artist created an ALA poster.
